Monday, March 21, 2005 Let's see... What have I been up to....? I purchased the sheet music to Missy Higgins' The Sound of White, which is quite exciting. Yet to have a go playing it, but it should be quite fun... I've decided that whenever the first person "discovered" stick insects, they would have got a real fright... Shane, Sim and I went to the Open Day of the Australian Synchrotron yesterday. It was pretty cool. We saw the Official Opening by the Hon John Brumby, Minister for Innovation. It was a rather large building - in a big circle - and to tell you the truth, even having gone to the opening, I'm not too sure what it does... Something about electron beams and spinning light around in a big circle. (starts to hum Kylie's "Spinning Around" and thinks of those gold hot pants) I did, however, get a fridge magnet, a free sausage (sizzle) and have the opportunity to see a building that I will never again see as it will never again be open to the public. I thought the irony was delicious in that one young lad was wearing a t-shirt with the very famous picture of Pink Floyd's album cover on the front. The image shows clear light being diffracted into ROYGBIV (the colours of the rainbow) through a prism. I wondered if he realised he was attending an open day where the very premise was light, or if that was lost on him. Nevertheless, I found it very funny... I baked an orange and poppy seed cake yesterday... We went to my cousins' house for a birthday last night. My cousin's Italian boyfriend looks like Viggo Mortensen... Booked the Spirit of Tasmania for June. Sim and I are going there for a week or so and it should be lovely... That's very exciting. Easter's coming up which will be great! Have a very happy and safe Easter and don't indulge too much :)posted by AJ | 6:49 PM | |
