Dotpoints...

  • Thursday last week on the bus, there was an Asian lady in a big sunhat who had a clicker. She was counting the number of people who boarded and alighted the bus. Her readings were precise and she used a stopwatch with alacrity. I liked the sharpness of her pencil.
  • There are quite an alarming number of people wearing yellow, plastic bracelets around Uni. (Yes, I'm alarmed, cos I'm always alert...hence noticing things like this!). Most of the wearers look like they belong on the pages of an Industrie - or the trendy female equivalent - catalog. I had the opportunity to quickly see that the braclets have little pictures of stick men on them. Oh, and I've only ever seen ONE of these braclets in a colour other than yellow. That colour was blue. When I had lunch with Erica on Tuesday, I told her about the frequency of these bracelets and sure enough, she wasn't disappointed and had the good fortune to see four or five people wearing them! If anyone knows what these are and why seemingly everyone is wearing them, please let me know. I think it's getting to 'cult status'
  • I have decided it's quite undignified for middle-aged women to write on their hands. I saw a rather refined and elegant looking woman doing so on the train home one day.
  • If you are able to provide all documentation required for quite a complex, involved scholarship such as the ones I have currently been going through for work, you deserve to be short-listed based purely on this. Well done for following all instructions, you deserve a bi-plane, should automatically be granted a Level 19 honorary bureaucratic licence and a slo-mobile. [See Futurama episode S02E14, How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back for more information].
  • Shane has downloaded full versions of such Abandonware classics as Ecoquest, Space Quest 1-5 and Leisure Suit Larry with more on the way. Suffice it to say, Big Kev was out and about with this "good news, everybody".
  • Missy Higgins' new single will be "The Special Two" and will feature three non-album tracks, two of which are original compositions - "Drop The Mirror" and "Blind Winter". The fourth track on the EP will be Missy's version of the Skyhooks classic "You Just Like Me 'Cause I'm Good In Bed" which she recorded for Triple J's recent 30th birthday celebrations.
  • I have finished reading "Piano Shop on the Left Bank" and want to learn more about the compositions of Chopin. They sound magical.
  • Pierre is the capital of South Dakota
  • People in the Jedi religion celebrate their day of worship on May the 4th.
