Honk If You Demand Satisfaction aka GloveSlap

Hey everyone,

Haven't updated in a while - what with the new job and everything! Have been getting home, wanting to blog (as you do) but not having the time to. All in all though - what with a job and stuff - Isn't it cooooool?

Am currently listening to Speedstar*'s album, Forget The Sun, Just Hold On - track 6 Let All Your Troubles Hurt Me. It's beautiful. Nice little Aussie 5-piece that I picked up today having heard some tracks of theirs on the Js. This song reminds me of Jet's Look What You've Done, only doesn't rip off Hey Jude (at least not to me)

Am in a really really really happy, bubbling, effervesant mood, which can be verified by my usage of the word "exultant" on one of the comments I made on Erica's blog. Go and check out her
blog right now, please!!

Today, I also purchased Missy Higgins' The Sound of White. Am so looking forward to laying in bed at some stage in the darkness with headphones on and just being eclipsed by her sweet melancholies, moody piano melodies and beautiful lyrics.

My new job at Melb Uni is going really really well! One week down already! It's such a change from Kmart, almost the complete antithesis or something. For one, I sit down. WOW. I have a snazzy name badge that reads "Andrew - Melbourne Education", I help myself to numerous Milos/teas a day and am getting quite good at recognising the intracicies between the BTeach and the B Ed Prim, for instance. Hahahahaha

I had a beautiful weekend - dinner with Sim and his folks on Friday night was nice and quiet after a working week. Watched a couple of episodes of Star Trek, saw Adaptation and Gattaca on DVD and walked around the Tan, which was very nice. Before I met Simon, I had no idea the Tan even existed, even though it is allegedly famous. If you're like me and didn't/don't know, the Tan is a walking/jogging/running track that runs the length of the Botanic Gardens. You see lots of people walking their dogs, getting fit and running and walking around there. It's just nice to be in the fresh air :) Hopefully it's something that we can do at least once a week, walking the Tan.

What else, what else - I know I'm behind the times but is anyone else extremely disappointed/*insert appropriate adjective here* that Ngaiire didn't progress to the Top 12 of Aussie Idol? And Casey's performance of Tina Arena's song was so extraordinary. She is so confusing and interesting - how can a seemingly goth/punk chick pull of a Tina Arena song and make it sound her own? Truly talented.

Oh, and before I forget I somehow stumbled upon this very awesome blog -
http://www.diversionary.net/daily/, which has amazing photography. The author also has exemplary music taste ;) hahahahaha

See ya later, dudes. Have a good one!
