Thursday, August 05, 2004 It's official. I'm addicted to Australian Idol 2. I saw an ad for it this morning and just thought how cool it would be to be watching it right now, instead of waiting the couple of hours to when it airs. It's sad, isn't it? Oh well... I think the reason I'm enjoying it so much now and didn't enjoy the last Australian Idol, is that I've watched the all-important first few episodes where you are able to connect with the people on there. I ended up only watching the last few episodes of the first season and by then, they were only names, and faces with reasonably dulcet (from the Italian dulce, meaning sweet) sounding voices. This time, I've seen why they are auditioning to be the Idol, like one of the contestants who had cancer when she was five. She is auditioning to live as much as possible and try everything in the world once to give all the friends that she made, and who died, in hospital something special. It was really moving. By the way, she has an awesome voice, could quite possibly be Aboriginal (her name starts with Ng....) and has hair extensions. Overall, I think she's a champ. Seemingly quiet and shy but when she sings, she's a firecracker ("delighted, I'm sure...") Oh and Garth Ploog is the epitome of dickhead and reminds me of many of my 'contemporaries' back in high school. I hope he is eliminated immediately. Anyway, enough of that. My bro has been telling me a lot about the book he's currently reading, called The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown. It sounds awesome and I can't wait to read it. Sounds full of mystery and intrigue and the best part of it all is that it is allegedly based on fact...! Ok, I better be off now. Seeya! posted by AJ | 11:51 AM | |
