Sunday, January 25, 2004 JJJ BBQ People from the JJJ BBQ today have all left now. There were a lot of people; mostly Shane's friends. Jet's "Are You Going to Be My Girl?" took out the #1 spot. I thought Outkast's "Hey Ya!" (which came #2) or The White Stripes' "7 Nation Army" (which came #3 I believe) were contenders. It's horrible that Shane and I were comparing how many of our respective friends would come, mentally tallying up the numbers and seeing who "won". Of course, in such a pursuit, there must be a loser, which, of course, was me. Big surprise. I should have known. Talk about making me feel loved. Didn't help that I was constantly reminded of my lack of friends, or at least the ones that came. I didn't actually enjoy myself for the majority of the day. I just felt like running away. Guess it doesn't help when people say things like "you don't smile as much as you used to" or "you look depressed" or "what's wrong" and you don't even know where to start to begin to answer that question, or even what you're worried about at the time that they ask. Thankyou to all those who came, with food and drink in tow, especially to Erica who made 2 fantastic salads and a great dessert and Monique who whipped up a great couscous and potato/avocado salad.
