Yo, what up?

Have a good Melbourne Cup Day? I did...
Worked for three and a half hours (at double time and a half - cha-ching!), and also had a bet on 4 horses and actually WON money (WOOHOO!!) on Jardine's Lookout while my brother, who spent the entire day at the races, made a net loss. Muhahahahahahahaha... I only picked Jardine's Lookout cos he has his little mate Henry go with him everywhere... he he

Will and Joel G (not realted to Andrew G... i think) came round last night and we watched Futurama. Was funny. Not the greatest of episodes, but it had its moments... Bender, Fry and Leela as superheroes could easily be further explored in comic spinoffs &c.

Interesting train ride into the city today... I was listening to Radiohead's The Bends (as you do) and for me, if you're listening to music on the train, this almost always means the activities of the fellow commuters around you are far more interesting than they would be without the accompanying soundtrack. This, combined with my "weak grip on reality" (Hi Nicole!) and the fact that I quite often watch muted TV while listening to CDs, meant that there was not a gigantic quantum leap for me to associate the people's actions into some kind of working video clip for the entire Bends album...

Nevertheless, was amusing and surprising (No Suprises is on OK Computer... muhahahahaha)
Anyway, there was this guy opposite me who looked like a thinner, more tanned version of Angel, and he was making these weird facial movements - he'd look all serious and contemplative one second and the next I'd notice he'd be all animated and laughing.. At first I thought he was remembering a big evening the night before or something (which Elizabeth first introuduced me to up in Canberra.... lol), then I thought he was bipolar or had a mental disorder of some description, meaning his emotions could vary wildly... I then realised that he was flirting/ being flirted to from some one else on the train, hence he's anxiousness and the weird e-motion sickness...
Was nevertheless surprised when a guy from the other end of the carriage, walked up and handed him a small bit of paper which presumably had his phone number on it... It was all just a like a video clip... Very bizarre... (Speaking of Angel in video clips, how cool is Dido's White Flag!? I still haven't worked out exactly what transpired between Angel and Dido for them to be in that situation yet...)

Beck to the train ride - There was also an elderly couple sitting nearby who were just very cool looking. The gentleman was a City of Melbourne Information Volunteer and they just looked dignified and happy and healthy and in love and in was also very cool to see this juxatposed against the often melancholy music/lyrics of Radiohead.

There was also a man to the right of me who I noticed was wearing a mighty cool hat. Combined with his grey moustache and round belly, he look to me as if he had stepped out of the world of Harry Potter... Those felt (or whatever they're made of) hats are very cool....

Yeah, so.
Have YOU been on any interestnig train rides recently...?

Simon will arrive soon and we will make a Field Studies page for Reciprocity.
And I really must get cracking on that Internship Report. Akk
