Monday, November 10, 2003 yallo... busy weekend. worked 9 hours thursday and 9 hours friday... went to check out Beck's band SCHEMATIC at the Cue, Brunswick St, Fitzroy, on Friday night. They're really cool... Saw two others bands after them and they were also very cool. The music was getting progressively louder and I was getting progressively more tired. The gig was arranged as Qwasi (the 3rd band I saw) needed to change their name - I believe another band is called Qwasi and had copyrighted it... Therefore they asked people in the crowd to write band name suggestions on little yellow post-it notes and after the gig, Qwasi would no longer be Qwasi but ...something else. Both my suggestions ('Malfunctioning Eddy' and '3 guys, a girl and a band name' were read out but not chosen - no alarms and no surprises there). The name ACCESSORY was however chosen, which was pretty cool... Worked Saturday morning, came home and watched Dancer in the Dark which I had taped from SBS. It starred Bjork and I thought it was brilliant. It was beautifully sad and shot really well with many close ups when they were needed &c. attempted to have a nap before going to Mel's, but was interrupted with 5 phone calls. annoying... then went to Mel's house and it was a growse party. as simon said, M&Ms were thrown (into my mouth), scrabble was played, breast milk was spoken about, alcohol was consumed. got some cool photos - notably ones where we sat in front of the little scrabble rows that had our names on there. yimob. the core. lucy. aj. that was cool. stayed the night at mel's. zimon's comment of 'i am somewhat hungover' when we woke up was pretty funny.... walked a bit with zimon and sash before sash left to get a lift. ate chicken, to which lucy would probably not be proud. broke a plastic fork. saw an annoying street theatre guy that reminded me of Apu. many ireland-rugby-shirt wearing people were along southbank. ate popcorn. caught train home... posted by AJ | 5:47 PM | | ||
