Tuesday, November 04, 2003 Happy Melbourne Cup Day everyone... For many this is a chance to get absolutely liquored up, sunburnt, lose (/ "win") some money at the Races... Looks like a good day for it. And my brother DOES look good in my suit ;) For all us uni students, however, Melbourne Cup usually means studying for exams/final pieces of assessment, that is if we don't actually have an exam on the first Tuesday in November... So... who dya like in da Cup? Myself - I hope Frightening gets up. I remember telling my bro a couple of weeks ago that I thought he'd win and he was all like 'yeah, whatever AJ...' But now it's the favourite, I think I have developed/earned street cred. He asked me yesterday who else I thought might win (cos I'm a tinny bastard). Was amusing... I'll be working thru the Cup and I'm guessing that, if the title The Race That Stops a Nation lives up to its title, good ol' Kmart will be devoid of all customers come 3pm... I think we may even see a tumbleweed, err...., tumble by... Hmmmm, what else. Luke came over and I borrowed his Dogma (that sounds weird... and perhaps is a lyric that could/should appear in a future Garbage song) and he borrowed two Futurama discs. We were watching Whose Line is it Anyway on tape (keeping up with the appearance that Luke thinks I tape absolutely EVERYTHING from free-to-air tv [he's not entirely wrong...]) , and they were up to the Irish Drinking Song and it cut out... What were they going to say that ryhmed with bath...?! The mind boggles. Hmmm, anyway. Must get ready for work. Have a good day. Hopefully see most of you some time during the week.
