Friday, August 01, 2003 WOOHOO!! AJ is footloose and fancy free!!! Yes, that's right kids... AJ has officially finished his internship, meaning much happiness, a chance to be a tourist in this, our Nation's Capital and also the right to be able to use the 3rd person at quite sporadic and at times, inappropriate intervals... :) It also means he is coming home quite soon and will see all you crazy cats who are currently reading this... :) :) I completed my oral presentation today and it went for 45 minutes. I was told that it was impressive and I knew my stuff. That's good!! I felt somewhat underprepared as the other 5 interns all had superior Power Point knowledge and experience and had polished, crisp presentations. I thought my usage of overheads were nice, though... Nicole (hi Nicole!) from good ol' Fenner Hall made the trek to ANU to see the presentation, as did the Director of the Internship Program, the 5 other interns and my institutional supervisor. Was very glad that my supervisor from Parliament could make it!! And she said she would write me a reference!! WOOHOO!!!! Got some photos of everyone together, had roast veal and roast vegies for lunch before listening to the 2 remaining presentations, then quick coffee before celebratory drinks and nibbles in the internship aftermath. Am going to go out soon for dinner with the other 5 interns and to go to some clubs etc. Should be a good night. Seeya! P.S. Oh, in response to Luke's comment in the Guestbook, yes it has been freezing here the past few days.
