Sheesh, McGeesh
What a busy weekend. Adopting Zimon's point form entry...

-Thurs night: saw Final Destination with Joel/Erica (movie still gives me the creeps).

-Fri night: Shaved Eug's dreds and raised money for Leukeamia Foundation. (at last count, raised 391.25 dollars!!). I, personally, cut a dred off her head. I was fearful small animals might flee the hair, but alas Whackin Day was not that day... I must say the Cermonial Bowl of Dreds was both disturbing and funny (we put all the cut dreds in one big bowl, you see...) Kiani, Eug's pug, seemed to enjoy sniffing the Ceremonial Bowl of Dreds a bit too much.

-Sat: worked at the Kmart; watched Mark/Winky/Abid play cricket. Entertaining and hot.

-Sat night: Lauren's housewarming, attended by Zimon, Laura, Lauren (duh) and myself from the BA(IS) course. Was proud of self for city-driving. At said party, met a few interesting people. Spoke to Lauren's flatmate about the pretentious people living in the supposedly trendy suburbs such as St. Kilda and what have you. He reminded me, in his Manchester accent that, "you can't polish a turd, you know what I mean?" :) I think that says enough. Met another Kmart employee who was quite intoxicated at the time and kept reminding me of Kmart's mission statement. Repetitive and hilarious. Please see Zimon's blog entry for Sunday, March 16, 2003 for an anecdote from the night...

-Sun: worked at the Kmart. I'm sure I did something else, but nothing springs to mind.... Ahh yes. Booked flight to Canberra for internship. Zimon, I still do not know what govt. dept. I'm being placed in. A little scared of this fact and I believe nervous is a word that springs to mind.

-Mon: Uni in afternoon. Subject - Languages in Contact, comparing languages and such. Interesting. All in German. A lot of thinking involved.

-Mon night: Quality TV viewing. Suitably impressed with Futurama's Cyber House Rules, especially the 'Phaser Eye Surgery' line.... ahhhh

-Tues: Killing time before two hour German seminar and Dutch for Germans. Will have reciproCITY training at 3:00.

A question: if jazz is the foundation for much of today's contemporary music, where does Ragtime fit in? Was that prior to jazz or after? Erica, anyone, help me out?
I think we need more ragtime in this world. That's my Random Gripe O The Day.

And why are Polish (the people) and polish (the verb) spelt the same (ignore the capitalization)? Orthography baffles me.
Can I polish a Polish shoe? Or can I Polish a polished shoe?
