Tuesday, March 18, 2003 Here is an email to sent to Simon on the 14th March 2003: Lieber Herr Zimon, Hallo! I haven't read 1984... I know, I know. It's virtually a crime that I haven't read it. I will though.. It's one of those books that I will read. And I'll eventually see Blade runner and read all the Lord of the Rings. I'm getting there..... Still on Blue Mars and of course, Stupid White Men. Simon had previously said the following in an email: WOW! in Dutch there are no irregular verb conjugations!! FANTASTIC! I'll share genuine enthusiasism for this as soon as you tell me what the fuck an irregular verb conjugation is. and I'm sure i'll be thrilled then. LOLOLOL! That is so funny. And again, I reaffirm my position of being such a geek!! I told a friend of mine (Eugenie, did you meet her at my bbq?) about that and she got really excited. You see, in year 11 I think it was, we decided that we'd be those people that knew 5 or 6 languages, to which everyone was in awe. I'm well on my way (English, Deutsch, Mandarin, Nederlands) as is she (English, Bahasa Indonesia). I think we just get very excited about... stuff. You'd like her. She's a crazy gal. In fact, I'm going to her house tonight for a head shaving party. She has dredlocks you see, and the only way to get rid of them (I'm told) is to shave them all off. It's going to be a fun party and we all sponsored her to shave them off and all proceeds go to the Leukaemia Foundation. Very worthwhile. Note: now that I recall that, I think I actually told Erica and Joel about the present tense verb conjugations of Dutch. Sorry! Simon had previously said the following in an email: Stupid White Men is a good read. an easy read too. Have you seen Bowling for Columbine? a lot is almost word for word, but they are both well worth a look. I havn't seen any docos on the Bush 2000 election, and I think his run-through of that is one of the strengths of the book (I believe Gore Vidal has written some essays on that too). Yes, I'm really enjoying it so far. I particularly enjoyed the Open Letter - I LOLed to the fact that Dubya said his favourite children book was one that was published a year after he graduated from College. :D Simon had previously said the following in an email: and veto blog 'fascinating'? bit of a strong word isn't it thesauraus man. I think that term is more suited to your sci-fis. (watch Angel tonight?). I fucking missed Futurama this week. v. v. v. angry. Please see Blog, re: Angel and Buffy. Both were cool... but the singing and Anya-esque-ness of Buffy trampled the crap outta Angel. Oh and the email from Lynton about Loretta's 'hello friends' Diversity C email as a postcard was almost prophetic. Leigh's one would also look good up on reciproCITY... Anywho, this whole email would make a very good blog entry, methinks. Do I have your permission to post it up there? -Aah Yachtposted by AJ | 10:04 PM | |
