Start spreading the news...

No, I'm not leaving today as Frankie baby would say, but rather on the 5th of November 2006, Sim and I are off to the US of A for a "holi-day, cele-brate" as Madonna would say.

Tickets are booked. Plans are to go to LA and journey around there for several days, perhaps then Las Vegas, perhaps San Diego, perhaps San Francisco (yes, we've got a lot to organise!!), then take a plane to New York and maybe visit Washington DC or Philadelphia!! Suffice it to say and to paraphrase Big Kev, "we're excited".

It's not for a while yet, but it's very very cool and I'm looking forward to perhaps seeing and meeting Mickey Mouse, and seeing the Statue of Liberty and touring the White House.

In other news, last week Kellie and co. enjoyed a lovely dinner in Brunswick on Friday 21 April to celebrate her birthday and then went on to dance the night away. On Tuesday 25 April (ANZAC Day), Kellie and co. then enjoyed home-made scones (thanks, Kel!) and cups of tea and coffee, again to celebrate her birthday.

On Saturday 22 April, I joined Erica and Bianca and went to a concert in Richmond. We saw The Little Stevies (I bought their CD, they're cool and very happy), Joel Plaskett and Hawksley Workman, the latter two being Canadian musicians. It was a great evening, enjoying music and the company of friends.

I'm re-reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime and thought I'd leave you with this piece of wisdom from Christopher, the main character:

"Mrs Forbes said that hating yellow and brown is just being silly. And Siobhan said that she shouldn't say things like that and everyone has favourite colours. And Siobhan is right. But Mrs Forbes was a bit right, too. Because it is sort of being silly. But in life you have to take lots of decisions and if you don't take decisions you would never do anything because you would spend all your time choosing between things you could do. So it is good to have a reason why you hate some things and you like others. It is like being in a restaurant like when Father takes me out to a Berni Inn sometimes and you look at the menu and you have to choose what you are going to have. But you don't know if you are going to like something because you haven't tasted it yet, so have favourite foods and you choose these, and you have foods you don't like and you don't choose these, and then it is simple."

Oh and before I forget - Hi Ang! I know I haven't posted much of late, but this one's for you :)
