Happy end of the Easter long weekend...

...and what a good one it was!
For me, it didn't start off the best with my leg hurting quite badly so that I could not go to Eug's John Safran vs God DVD evening on Thursday night. But I think over the course of the weekend, it got much better and boy, what a (long) weekend it was!

Good Friday was spent avoiding the Good Friday Appeal as much as possible and also doing a bit of my Donatello Kids' longstitch which I found a couple of weeks ago. Every now and then, I pick up and do a little bit and I find it very fun and relaxing. At the moment, I'm back-stitching in black around Donatello to accentuate his curves and musculature. Hahahahahaha. Does it sound like I know what I'm doing? How 'bout if I say "pearl" or "moss-stitch" or "crochet hook"?? Would that be better...? :)

Friday night, Kel held a little Easter get-together at her place which was fantastic. Many little easter eggs were consumed, many cups of tea were drunk. Many hot cross buns were ingested. Suffice it to say, many examples of the passive tense were used.

The little Easter egg hunt was very fun. We all managed to get a relatively unexplored area each, which was very nice and fun. Torches helped to find the little hiding eggs! It was a shame to see that a few slugs had "found" one of the eggs in my alotted area. Slimy... but satisfying!

Afterwards, Sim and I had a good hour-long or so chat with Ang outside her house in the bitter cold of night. It was lovely. I hope she's feeling much better with each passing day.

Saturday... ummmm, (...remembering...) Saturday was spent shopping! It was 15% off at good ol' Kmart and Sim and I also bought shoes at Myer! WOW. We then saw the VERY awesome Star Trek documentary called "Trekkies". Anyone who bags out Star Trek fans should definitely watch this (coughEUGcough). Not only is it funny, you get to see just how "interesting" and "diverse" the fans of one of the most famous science fiction franchises really are. After all, it's "infinite diversity in infinite combinations".

Easter Sunday meant a beautiful breakfast at Sim's parents' in Camberwell then onto my Aunty's place for a lovely roast lunch in the afternoon. We saw Anchorman on DVD and while it was funny, I thought it was quite lame unfortunately. It just didn't have that Zoolander style...
My cousin's boyfriend is here from Italy so everyone was practising their Italian. Suffice it to say, ours is not so good.

Sunday night was the premiere of the absolutely AWESOME Stargate: Atlantis! I had to put that in teal, just cos....
I really enjoyed it and cannot wait to see more thrilling episodes from the intrepid crew in the Pegasus Galaxy!

Easter Monday - I unsucessfully "made" a Donna Hay approved custard tart. I'll have to try it again. I think I didn't put enough pastry in the tart tin. Either that, or I really SHOULD have used baking weights. Oh well. Also, Sim and I watched The Fellowship of the Ring on DVD. Very very cool.

If you're wondering what the HELL the previous post is, it's called Ode to Spot. Ode to Spot is a poem created by Data, the android from Star Trek: The Next Generation. I wanted to post it because 1) it's cool and I like the rythym - those who are well versed in Literature, can anyone tell me what meter it's in? Iambic Septameter?

and 2) it was a little taste that Sim and I are heading to...
a Star Trek convention in Adelaide in October!!!!!
Yep! We're off on October 16 to see three actors talk about their experiences, answer questions from fans and to generally have a good time with others who enjoy the same show/s as we do (See Trekkies above).

I will leave you with this final quote that I found on the Net today:

"All marriages are same-sex marriages. You get married, and every night it's the same sex." — Bill Maher
