Just read Erica's blog and was WOWed by it. About half an hour ago, I watched last night's episode of Australian Idol, and guess what? I too voted for Ngaiire and Chanel.
They are just so both talented and ...edgy* is I think the best way to say it. Everytime they appear on the screen, I want to see more of them. It's that addictive quality of their personalities that is just intriguing.

I say ...edgy* because they don't just roll through the competition like some of the other spheres* that are also in the Top 30. They don't play it safe. They don't compromise. It's great. I loved Chanel's choice of song. Portishead rock.

And as Erica said, it would be an injustice to both of them to be eliminated at this relatively early stage. So yeah, I voted for Ngaiire and Chanel. If either of them were to release an album right now, I would buy it. They seem like such nice, interesting people with actual stories...
Also, and quite interestingly what did youse guys think of Ben Eaton's choice of song? Mmmm, say what you wanna but singing a George Michael song makes me think certain things. Hahahahaha I thought he sang really well too :)

Hayley's version of Sarah McLachlan's song Angel was also very special. That's probably my Top 3 in this order from Group 1: Ngaiire, Chanel, Hayley. Well done!

Currently listening to Missy Higgins' Scar EP, which is great. One song I was especially keen to listen to a studio version of is Dancing Dirt Into The Snow. I have mixed feelings about the fact that that particular song will not make it onto her debut album cos I want lots of people to be exposed to the quality lyrics and songwriting that is that song. Then again, I'm happy because it means that only a very select few who purchase that EP (and/or hear me playing it, more likely...) will hear that song. So it's more mine. Does that make sense? That's how I rationalise buying artists' EPs and singles that I really dig. And no, the band Hole does not get a guernsey. Get it - dig - Hole. Ha.

Anyway...

Sim and I saw King Arthur last night at Crown. Yes, Crown! How glitzy! How glamourous! Hahahaha, not really but I like kidding. It was really cool, a kind of understated blockbuster. No Titanic, but a great ice scene.
