Thursday, August 21, 2003 As Simon over there at i rule the world has correctly stated (Simon - that was perfect tense, by the way), I spent about three and a half hours at a cafe on Tuesday. It was pretty cool. Chatting about all manner of things - the cultural and social difficulties inherent in today's technology and our attempts to resolve some issues surrounding that, black cat black cat, smses with and without spaces between the words and yes, my affinity for Star Trek in German. zimon states: AJ... who took a break from watching Star Trek in German to talk about websites and sit at a cafe with me for three and a half hours and then left for a class on historical german grammar... as you do. After that I had a verrrrrrrrrrrrrry cool class, Historical Grammar of German. It was fascinating. Explained all the stuff that I had previously thought you just needed to ROTE-learn... German teachers/lecturers would just say "oh, it's just the way it is!!" Now I know there are rules for the plural formation that occurs with some genders in German!! Makes much more sense.... Again, something they could have told me YESTERDAY!!! Nicole left a comment to a post below. About tofu. And about Jim trying the tofu... I wonder if he loved/loathed it. Will be interesting to know. Last night, Joel came around and we burnt some CDs for his 21st on Sat night. Not literally 'burnt', but 'burnt' in that 'recording' kind of sense, as opposed to that 'senseless destruction of material goods' kind of meaning... :) He, Joel, was VERRRRRY impressed with Erica's track, Warm December. He praised her like he should. Check it out at Erica's blog here Working tonight. Need a haircut. posted by AJ | 4:24 PM | |
