Tuesday, July 01, 2003 Ahhhh How could I forget??? I think it was Sunday arvo, I was doing the most random job of making pasta when a really strange, early 90s song came into my head. Let me put this into context - I had only s amll amount of spiral pasta and a small amount of small penne pasta. The cabonara sauce that I had had gone mouldy and the pasta I was cooking for that had just boiled when I discovered it was mouldy. I had to think quick as I was STARVING and couldn't be bothered walking the 2km (in any direction) to the nearest food outlet. The way I was randomly throwing together pasta, tomato paste and anything else I had led me to think what I was doing was indeed 'how bizarre'. This then led to the great SMS challenge: Guess That Song!! Sadly Luke, Erin and Zimon did not know the answer and Keri failed to sms back. The answer was How Bizarre, obviously, and I thought it was really really funny. Not sure if it's on a par with Guess That Dictator, but I thought it was cool. The responses were funny. NFI was prominent.... Also, just thought I'd mention some more funny stuff here at Fenner. Two friends have told me that they often go Late Night Special shopping at Woolworth's (it will forever be Safeway to me...). They say the wey they judge what to buy is determining "grams per cent" and that there are 3 main factors - price, quantity (not quality) and taste. When speaking about some of the specials I had found on my travels, one of the duo invited me to join them on their next Late Night Special Shopping Adventure TM. Sadly we can't go yet as Nicole is still in Geelong, but soon we will. Oh yes... soon we will. I am told they run around trying to find the cheapest thing and meet at a central location, literally weighing up its worth. All I have to say is: Crouching Shopper Hidden Bargain Also, one night I went down to the kitchens early and saw the same two friends making Procrastination Slice. Yes, you read right. Procrastination Slice. Isn't that a wicked name for a slice? It involved a biscuit base (using Cookery: The Australian Way - our Year 8 cookbook!), a caramel saucey thing and custard. Sadly, the girls didn't wait long enough for one of the layers to set resulting in a gelatinous glob. The biscuit was GREAT and afterwards they froze the remaining goo. Last week they fished it out of the freezer and tried some of the "Procrastination Ice Cream" it was by this stage. Wasn't bad... wasn't bad... :)posted by AJ | 7:41 PM | |
