Friday, June 06, 2003 Dammit.... Lost entire post that I put up here last night... Will try to remember what I wrote GrRRRRRgggGGGGRRRrrrr The dialogue between Erica, Lucie and myself regarding Leisure Suit Larry is most amusing!! No, Lucie - I don't know why your Dad would laugh so much at the "Beam Me Up, Scottie" thing. My first thought was that the letters that make up that phrase might be able to be rearranged to say something that COULD make your dad laugh in that way. Also, Lucie is one SYN FM DJ, but make sure you stay tuned for another! ANG and OLLIE host a show on Saturday night (not sure the time) and it's about dance music and international DJs. VERY cool.... On Wednesday night, I sat in on a session about the Alexander Technique. It's a way of opening yourself up to the idea that you can do all manner of things differently and possibly achieve better results having done so. For musicians, this can mean hitting the notes etc. easier with a different technique or for other people, it might mean sitting in a chair more easily in that you achieve the same result (sitting in a chair) but use a different series of muscles, making it easier on your body. Alexander was a Tasmanian who would always lose his voice on stage, but only on stage. He realised it must be something he was doing that preventing him for speaking on stage and set up mirrors to view his actions as to why he couldn't... He found out there was a definite hurdle to why he couldn't and adjusted his behaviour to remedy. Was really really cool session..... Kinda messed with your mind. Not mind-expanding like the Matrix, but cool nonetheless... Got home from internship today and had FOUR things in the little D pigeon hole, here at Fenner: -Stupid notice that people in my kitchen are too messy. True.... CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELVES! WHAT"S WITH ALL THE PAPER TOWEL AND PEELING VEGETABLES IN THE SINK!?!! I know they're not reading this, but some common sense PLEASE! -little laminated card that indicates I have a package/parcel to collect from Front Office. Drat - got there at 5:05, five minutes after they had shut for the LONG weekend... Will have to wait, I guess.. -RMIT survey. Allegedly I have completed a Certificate III in Applied Language from RMIT TAFE. Must be for Chinese. Pretty cool... do I actually 'get' a certificate? That would be cool.... AND - a GREAT card from many many friends in the BA!!! THANKYOU ALL SO MUCH!! Big thanks to HB, Laura, Zimon, Casey, Max, Lucie, Shannon, Yoshi, Nick (B. or W.?), Michaelbeattie, Lauren!!! SO very very nice. You know how sometimes you don't have the greatest day and then something happens and you just forget all about it... Was one of those times. Wow - just goes to show how many Bloggers we have in the course :) Tonight there's a Fenner Hall Casino Royale which is a chance to get dressed up and drink!! It's a bar night basically with drinking, dancing, drinking, drinking.... I think drinking might be involved. Like Zimon wrote in one sms to me late at night (or early in morning...?) "so much dancing. wrong." Shannon - you're welcome for covering your ass in reciproCITY! Hayley - I will not give "Johnny" too much grief! Casey - will attempt to make you (collectively) proud. Zimon - yes emails are easier to read than your handwriting. Sentimental value is tops. Max - champ. Love the card.... Also, my bro and his g/f are coming to visit me tomorrow! WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!! This is a big blogging blog out to anyone and everyone - if you are cashed up and are wanting to come up to Canberra, come and visit me!! Would love to see everyone..... Luke, your roadie idea only has approximately 7 more weeks of feasibility.... Well I think that's everything. Should be a BIG weekend...
