Wednesday, April 02, 2003 Personality Tests and Dutch/English/German modal verbs. I did the Personality Test that Zimon and Lucie had previously done. It was interesting. Both Lucie and I are histrionic and narcissistic. Anyone wanna make glossary terms for those words at reciproCITY? *coughSIMONcough...* I digress....My results: Disorder | Rating Paranoid: Low Schizoid: Moderate Schizotypal: Moderate Antisocial: Low Borderline: Low Histrionic: High Narcissistic: High Avoidant: Moderate Dependent: Low Obsessive-Compulsive: High Pfft. I'm not paranoid?! I'm not!? I'm NOT? I'M NOT!!! (who said that?) :) ELEMENT met on Monday night to discuss their upcoming musical dominance of the world. Too far? I think not.... In other news, in Dutch For Speakers of German (possibly the coolest and weirdest Germanesque subject I've taken so far), we dicussed modal verbs. Was very excited. Had always wondered why the English will as in future tense (I will do that) was werden in German, when there's a very similar word to will in German... The verb wollen (to want to), conjugated to will in 1st and 3rd person singular present tense, looks VERY similar to English's will, don't you think!? It's because once they were used in the same way but somewhere something went wrong and German changed its meaning. Similarly, shall in English and sollen (to be supposed to) in German; to dare to in English and dürfen (to be allowed to) in German; Was noch?? Das wäre alles.... :) posted by AJ | 6:10 PM | | ||
